Black Dirt

While traveling through New York State, I stumbled upon a place called the Black Dirt region - and the name doesn’t exaggerate. The soil is unlike anything I’ve ever seen: rich, dark, almost velvety, like the earth itself had been steeped in ink. From this deep - black ground rise vibrant vegetables, their colors vivid they seem to glow against the darkness, as if the soil had given them not just life, but light.
