Metropolis - NYC 1979 - 1984
It takes the passage of time before an image of a commonplace subject can be assessed. The great difficulty of what I attempt is seeing beyond the moment; the everydayness of life gets in the way of the eternal.

About the Metropolis - NYC 1979 - 1984 series
Metropolis was made of stone, steal and glass and it rose up from the earth like a collection of giant monoliths.
I loved the way the light would change over the course of the day and create reflections, shadows and graphic angles. I was slowly becoming aware of what was above me and not just what was in front of me. The light was moving across the buildings like a dancer.
The images in this series were all shot on film over a period of years - 1979 - 1984.
